Drops of Hope Graphic

The Need:

Millions of families around the world still lack access to safe, clean drinking water. Many walk long distances only to collect water that is often contaminated — causing preventable disease, malnutrition, and daily hardship.

Without sustainable water sources like properly built wells or community filtration systems, children, women, and the elderly remain especially vulnerable. Clean water is the foundation of health, dignity, and survival — and your support helps communities access it safely and reliably.

Clean Water Changes Lives

Millions of families around the world still lack access to safe, clean drinking water. Many walk long distances only to collect water that is often contaminated, causing preventable disease, malnutrition, and daily hardship.

At One World Relief, we dig wells, install water storage facilities, and provide community filtration systems, while promoting hygiene education to ensure long-term impact.

Your support provides families with access to safe drinking water, improves sanitation, and strengthens community health. Every contribution helps families drink safely, stay healthy, and communities thrive.

Options

1. Shallow Hand Pump – £150

Shallow hand pumps are typically 30–70 feet deep and manually dug by local labour. A 3-inch liner is used, and the dig is usually completed in 1 day.

Real cost range: £60–£200

Note: While a big improvement over the water families had previously, we encourage donors to fund deep water boring, as it provides cleaner, healthier water.

2. Deep Well – £850

Deep wells are drilled using machinery, with boreholes up to 9 inches in diameter lined with steel for durability. They reach depths of 150–300 feet, providing cleaner, healthier water. Suitable for a few families and small-scale farming, wells can include hand pumps or electrical motor pumps for easier water access. The dig alone can take up to two weeks, depending on soil and geology.
Real cost range: £800–£1,200.

3. Community Filtration System – £5,000

Community filtration systems provide multi-stage water treatment for communities, often powered by solar or electric pumps. They remove bacteria, sediments, and other contaminants, providing safe and reliable water. We can convert a previous borehole into a filtration plant, saving costs and benefiting more people. Systems include maintenance and warranties for long-term operation.

4. Donate Any Amount

You can contribute as little as £5 to our general Water Fund, supporting ongoing and future water projects. Donations also contribute toward maintenance and service costs, especially for filtration systems, ensuring existing water systems remain safe and reliable for communities for years to come.
