The Need
Many families face persistent poverty, struggling to cover basic needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare. Without sustainable income, communities remain trapped in cycles of hardship, unable to invest in their children’s education or plan for the future.
While emergency food support is essential in times of crisis, our goal is to move communities away from reliance on handouts, and instead equip them with the tools to generate their own income. Economic instability, conflict, and limited employment opportunities often prevent people from accessing stable work, leaving vulnerable groups — including women, youth, and displaced families — particularly exposed.
Empowering livelihoods gives families the skills, confidence, and opportunities to take control of their futures, break dependency, and contribute to the growth and resilience of their communities.

Our Work & Aim
At One World Relief, we focus on empowering communities through livelihood and income generation programmes. By providing skills training, guidance, and support, we help individuals gain the knowledge and confidence to create sustainable income.
As part of our initiatives, small business equipment — including street food carts, rickshaws, sewing machines for women, or small food businesses — may be provided on a loan basis. Beneficiaries are monitored to ensure the support is used effectively. Once successfully managed, the equipment can be handed over to the beneficiary to grow their business or reallocated to new recipients, with repayments reinvested to support additional families. This approach ensures a sustainable cycle of opportunity and growth.
Our programmes are designed to address real needs in local communities, helping families move from dependence to self-reliance. As we grow, we plan to introduce microloans for small business support, giving people the means to launch their own enterprises and build lasting economic stability.
We work closely with communities to ensure initiatives are practical, tailored, and impactful, fostering not just economic growth, but resilience, independence, and empowerment for women, youth, and families alike.
